Gr8 Camping Trip Tentative Itinerary

 

Wednesday, June 20

​

9:00 am                 - Leave Dansereau

11:30 am                - Stop at A&W in Rocky Mountain House

2:00 pm                 - Arrive at Campsite

2:15 - 4:00 pm       - Camp set-up

5:30 – 6:30 pm     - Supper and Clean up (Subs, lunch meat, cheese, pizza sauce, tomatoes,            lettuce)

6:30–8:00 pm       - Hike Sundance, Sweat Lodge area and Ice Falls

8:30 – 10:00 pm   - Campfire- fire snacks (smores, moon pies)

10:30 pm                 - All quiet

 

Thursday, June 21

​

7:30 am                    -  Breakfast (Oatmeal, Toast, Cereal,)

8:30 am                    -  Leave for hike to Allstone Lake (Intermediate) Alternate hike for beginners

9:00 am                    - Start Hike

12:00 pm                  -  Lunch at Allstone Lake. (Sandwich, apple, orange, trail mix,)

1:30 pm                     -  Top of the world

4:00 pm                    - Back to bus

5:30 pm                    -  Supper (Soft Tacos, grated cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa)

7:00 pm                    -  Walk to swinging bridge, Polar Bear dip

8:30 pm                    - back in camp

10:30 pm                  -  everyone in tents

11:00 pm                   - all quiet

 

Friday, June 22

​

7:30 am                    - Breakfast (pack snacks for hike and bus ride)

8:00 am                   - Clean campsite, take down tents

9:00 am                   - Leave for Hike to Siffleur Falls

12:00 pm                 - Back to campsite, load bus

1:30 pm                    - Rocky Mountain House - Lunch at A&W

5:00 pm                   -  Arrive in Beaumont (clean out trailer, put gear away)

Meals

We will purchase and provide all meals at the campsite and on the hikes. Groups will be assigned preparation and clean-up responsibilities.

 

Students will need to purchase their lunch in Rocky Mountain House on our travel days.

 

More details will be shared regarding the food once the menus are finalized.

 

Students will be permitted to bring approved snack foods.

 

 

 

Gear and Supplies

Students will be provided with a packing list closer to the date.

Other Actvities

Students will have some supervised leisure time each day at the campsite to take part in a variety of activities. These range from organized large-groups like "capture the flag",  to smaller group games like football or frisbee, as well as campfire songs and other fun stuff.
